Can your old articles from your dead website be republished 5yrs later?

Hi all,

Curious to know if you can republish articles you wrote 5 yrs or so ago on your website that you then let die.

Did a duplicate content check and came up 100% unique but on waybackmachine some text on the site is still stored but not not showing up when checking.

Or would reviving that site by purchasing old domain or creating new domain be better although irrelevant if content is logged somewhere.
