Certification requirments for kitchen product on Amazon?

Supplier in China told me they don’t have CE certification. Am I right in thinking this is not necessary to sell on Amazon in the US? Are there any equivalent standards the product or factory needs to comply with?

This is for a kitchenware/food preparation item.

Does it need to have FDA approval?

Also if I do decide to sell in uk/eu in future what certifications are necessary there?
