Plugins for PhotoshopVer7or20

I need plugins that will help make it easer to grab the pen tool handles like how a snap works in Cad.
I remember seeing plugins that did many things brushes. Ect I know Autocad has many addins that help make things much easer.
Is this the case with photoshop ? I put down grid lines and it snaps up to the grid when I try to grab the pen tool maneuver handles.
Is illustrator this cumbersome to use >? IS that why they do not make it better because they have it in illustrator?
