Does Facebook send texts to a number after you remove it from your account?

ok so, my sister and me have to share a smartphone just like to play with and stuff,
but the other day
facebook shut me out and is asking for my phone number to get back into account so now i'm worried if i put in our number to get the code, then remove it from my accont , can facebook still send randum texts to our phone at randum times?
